The Palms Krystal Bar and Restaurant is expected to reopen after being struck by a vehicle Wednesday morning. According to the Port Huron Police Department, a car struck the north side of the building shortly before 11:30am. The driver of the car is believed to have suffered a medical emergency and was taken to an area hospital. No major injuries to customers inside the restaurant were reported. The Palms Krystal Bar, home of Chicken In the Rough, was established in 1936.

A car accident has damaged an iconic Port Huron bar. The Palms Krystal Bar in the 1500 block of Pine Grove Avenue was struck by a vehicle shortly before 11:30am this morning. There were no reported injuries in the accident. The cause of the accident remains under investigation but is believed to be a result of a medical issue with the driver. The Palms Krystal Bar, also known as Chicken in the Rough, is indefinitely closed due to the accident.
