The Blue Water Bridge has reopened following a vehicle fire yesterday afternoon. Point Edward Fire and Rescue responded around 2:30pm to reports of a burning tanker truck. When firefighters arrived, they found the truck’s cab fully engulfed in flames. They quickly contained the fire, preventing it from spreading to the tanker. As a precaution, both eastbound and westbound lanes of the bridge were temporarily closed, but traffic has since returned to normal. No injuries have been reported, but crews remained on the scene into the evening to extinguish any remaining hotspots.
